PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a voltage value of an AC output voltage outputted from a piezoelectric transformer.SOLUTION: A drive circuit for a piezoelectric transformer for generating an AC output voltage at a secondary side electrode of the piezoelectric transformer by generating an AC rectangular wave voltage V1 and applying the AC rectangular wave voltage V1 to between primary side electrodes of the piezoelectric transformer places an off period Toff1 made chiefly of a short circuit prevention period Td between a negative side rectangular wave Vm constituting a voltage waveform of the AC rectangular wave voltage V1 and one positive side rectangular wave Vp between a pair of positive side rectangular waves Vp outputted before and after the negative side rectangular wave Vm, and generates the AC rectangular wave voltage V1 while unevenly distributed at the one positive side rectangular wave Vp side. |
