摘要 A system (10), controller (16), and method (400) for controlling a light distribution pattern (22A). A light source (12) and an electrowetting lens (20) cooperate to vary a light distribution pattern (22A) of light (14A) from the light source (12). An object detector (40) is used by a controller (16) determine the location of an object (42, 58, 78) and operate the electrowetting lens (20) in order to control the light distribution pattern (22A) based on the location of the object (42, 58, 78). The electrowetting lens (20) provides for faster redirecting of light (14A) toward an object (42, 58, 78) when compared to mechanical based system (10). The light source (12) may be an array of light (14A) emitting diodes to provide a reliable, energy efficient source of light (14A).
