PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a middle storage device of an electrostatic coating system that can be cleaned efficiently; and a method of cleaning the same.SOLUTION: A middle storage device 10 of an electrostatic coating system 1 is disposed between a color change valve mechanism 20 and a coating gun 60, includes: a cylinder 11 in which a coating material is stored; a piston 12 that can slide in a cylinder chamber 14 of the cylinder 11; and a servo motor 13 that drives the piston 12, and includes: a first pore 141 that opens to the cylinder chamber 14 and is connected to the color change valve mechanism 20; a second pore 142 that opens to the cylinder chamber 14 and is connected to the coating gun 60; and a switching part that switches between a first cleaning in which a cleaning liquid W is supplied from the first pore 141 and a waste liquid after cleaning is exhausted from the second pore 142 to clean the cylinder chamber 14, and a second cleaning in which the cleaning liquid W is supplied from the second pore 142, and a waste liquid after cleaning is exhausted from the first pore 141 to clean the cylinder chamber 14. |
