<p>A stem 21 for a prosthesis comprising a tapered connector 22 securable to a head 25 by inserting the connector 22 into a socket in the head 25, wherein the connector 22 has a body that is deformable to enhance the contact area between the connector 22 and socket. The connector may have one or more slits 26a, 26b that form fingers 27 or an axial bore. In use, the connector 22 flexes to fit a socket with a different degree of taper. The connector 22 may have proximal and distal annular contact surfaces.</p> |
