[Class 44] A sliding-clasp fastener comprises a pair of T-section tapes 9, 10 each having a coil fastener member 11, 12 secured to.one edge and an end stop 16, 15 embracing the flanged edge 9a, 10a of the tape and a portion of the fastener coil. The stops 15, 16 include sleeve portions adapted to be clamped round the edge of the tape, and the stop 16 also includes a socket 24 to receive the other end stop 15. The socket, Fig. 6, may be formed from channel section and has slots 29 to pass the tapes 9, 10. It is secured to the stop 16 by means of flanges 28 which are clamped down on the end flange 23 of the stop, the flange 22 overlying the base 26 of the socket. Each stop may have an inwardly extending lug 17a to engage a loop on the end of the coil fastener and an integral tongue 30 inwardly bent to engage the tape. Specification 608,545 is referred to. |
