The method involves constructing a dynamics model of a charge state for an electrical energy storage unit (4), where the model represents behavior of load of the energy storage unit. Load power is determined according to variations of price of electrical energy, a desired charge state, an initial charge state and a predetermined charging time, where the model is a function of the load power depending on temperature of the energy storage unit. The determined load power is applied to the energy storage unit. An independent claim is also included for a charging system for an electrical energy storage unit.
