Method and device for folding an airbag

The method involves placing an airbag (1) between support portion and cover portion. The folding elements are arranged at the edge of support portion and cover portion and are moved towards the interior for folding airbag. A holder is arranged in folding space between support portion and cover portion such that the two separated folded-airbag regions are formed during folding the airbag. The portion of folding space is defined between holder and spaced support and cover portions to form a base folded-airbag region connected between two separated folded-airbag regions. An independent claim is included for device for folding airbag of airbag module.
