PURPOSE: An automatic driving control apparatus of vehicles and a method for controlling the automatic driving are provided to accurately recognize structures like a guardrail in which the same shape repeats in the curve road as a pause object using a sensor for distance equipped with ACC function. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an automatic driving of vehicles(10) comprises: a device for monitoring the front which is detects a relative velocity between the vehicles and an object(202) of the front; a sensor for detecting a speed of the vehicles; and an automatic driving control system enforcing the automatic driving control on the basis of information from the device for monitoring the front and the sensor for detecting the speed of vehicles. The method for controlling the automatic driving detects the relative velocity and the speed of vehicles and decides whether a constant number(N) of object which is detected by the device for monitoring the front are linearly distributed or not within a constant distance. The object of the front is admitted as the pause object when the total sum of the relative velocity and the speed of the vehicles is bigger than 0 and the constant number(N) of the objects detected by the device for monitoring the front is linearly distributed within the constant distance. |
