<p>Provided are: an interface device that is capable of accurately recognizing a subject such as a human in a wide recognition region, is compact, and is for executing an ambient interface; and a method for driving an interface device. In the interface device (100): an image projection means (101) includes a light source (102) that releases detection light for detecting a subject (X); the position of the subject (X) is recognized by means of an imaging device (106); by means of a projection direction adjustment means (105), the projection direction of an image projected from the image projection means (101) can be moved in accordance with the recognized subject (X) position; by means of the image projection means (101) a detection light image is projected onto the subject (X); by means of the imaging means (106), the image of the detection light is recognized; by means of a control means (107), the image projection means (101), the imaging means (106), and the projection direction adjustment means (105) are controlled; and in accordance with the state of the detection light image recognized by the imaging means (106), a signal that performs a predetermined operation pre-stipulated with respect to the state is released.</p> |
