In an arrangement for guiding sliding windows particularly vehicle windows, as described ir the parent Specification in which opposite edges of the glass pane 1, Fig. 5, are attached to a sash frame member having an outwardly presented channel 3 containing a movable guide member 7 spring pressed outwards into engagement with a fixed guide rib 9, the guide member 7 is in the form of a sheet metal channel the side walls of which have their outer edges bent to form flanges 8 which engage recesses 6 in the channel 3 and oppose shoulders 4 at the outer sides of the recesses. As shewn the sash frame member is of H- section forming the channel 2 to receive glass 1 and the wider channel 3, the latter having inwardly turned flanges 4 forming shoulders to abut flanges 8 and also forming the recesses 6 in which the flanges 8 slide. Member 7 is prevented from endwise movement by strips 13, Fig. 1, and pressed outwardly by an undulatory spring 10 rivetted at 11 to a bent-over end 12 of channel 7. According to the Provisional Specification the opposite end of the spring may be fastened to the sash frame member, stops then being unnecessary.</p> |
