PURPOSE: A composition for cardiovascular disease treatment or prevention including Parthenocissus Tricuspidata as an active ingredient is provided to have an effective treatment or prevention of cardiovascular disease by suppressing the transformation of angiotensin conversing enzyme to angiotensin II of the angiotensin. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating or preventing a cardiovascular disease comprises Parthenocissus Tricuspidata as an active ingredient. The cardiovascular disease is hypertension or the hypertensive heart disease. The Parthenocissus Tricuspidata extract is extracted from water, 50-100% carbon number 1-4 of alcohol, ethyl acetate, hexane, chloroform, methylene chloride, and dichloromethane. A food composition for prevention and improvement of cardiovascular disease comprise Parthenocissus Tricuspidata extract as the active ingredient.
