PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange an illumination device in an appropriate position so that inconvenience which a high luminance part generates does not occur in a captured image while a reader is downsized.SOLUTION: A reader includes: an illumination device 5 including a light source and light guide bodies 13a to 13d for guiding light which the light source generates to an original platen to illuminate a reading face of an original placed on the original platen; an imaging apparatus 6 for imaging the reading face of the original illuminated by the illumination device; and a mirror 7 which reflects light from the reading face of the original and guides it to the imaging apparatus. The illumination device and the imaging apparatus are disposed in positions facing the mirror. The light guide bodies are installed on both right and left sides across an optical path for guiding the light from the mirror to the imaging apparatus. |
