ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, FLAME RETARDANT THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION AND MOULDED ARTICLE THEREOF

The environmentally friendly, flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention comprises: (A) an aromatic vinyl based resin; (B) a polyphenylene ether based resin; (C1) boehmite; and (C2) an alkyl phosphinic acid metal salt. The thermoplastic resin composition not only has outstanding mechanical properties and heat stability but is also environmentally friendly as the resin neither uses a halogen-based flame-retarding agent that would cause environmental pollution nor uses a phosphate ester compound that would have a long/short term adverse effect on aquatic lifeforms, creating a gas line at the surface of the moulded article.
