An electric lighting fitting comprises a straight elongated channel member 10 of uniform cross-section, with means for supporting two straight tubular lamps 14 one on each side of the member 10, the lamps lying substantially wholly within the dimension of the member 10 at right angles to the medial plane of the lamps, control gear 15 for the lamps accommodated in the member 10 and partly or wholly reflecting members 16 spaced from the member 10 and enclosing the lamps on one side of the plane thereof. The member 10 may be open at the top and formed of upper inwardly inclined surfaces 10a, lower outwardly inclined surfaces 10b and a flat base 10c, all of which are made reflecting. The member 10 is closed by end plates 11 provided with flanges 17 supporting the members 16. The inner edges of the members 16 may be spaced apart to allow a flow of air which assists in keeping the inner surfaces of the members 16 free from dust. The fitting may be supported by rods mounted on the end plates 11 or on clamping plates 22 engaging flanges 10d of the member 10. |
