[Class 125 (iii)] A cup-shaped bottle capsule, having compressed overlapping side folds, of metal foil or metal foil combined with paper, is fully formed and the folds subsequently cemented. An adhesive, such as a solution of polyvinyl chloride or of a co-polymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, is applied to both sides of the material, and, after formation of the capsule, is heat-activated: alternatively the formed capsule may be coated with a varnish or like liquid adhesive which seeps into crevices between the folds and cements them when dried. A sealing washer may be furnished in the bottom of the capsule. Specification 430,299 is referred to. |
