<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize with simple algorithm magnification of an image with sharp image quality in which fade or aliasing is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: At step S1, a pixel group comprising plural preset pixels of a luminance signal is determined as a neighbor pixel group used for generating an interpolation pixel. At step S2, an order of the plural pixels constituting the neighbor pixel group is determined according to the size of each pixel value. At step S3, the order of the interpolation pixels at a position to be interpolated is calculated by calculating through interpolation an order of part of pixels sorted at a neighbouring position of the interpolation pixels. At steps S4 to S6, based on the pixel value of the pixel at the pixel position according to the value of the order of the interpolation pixel among the plural pixels forming the neighbor pixel group, an interpolation value candidate of the interpolation pixel is calculated. At step S7, S8, the calculated interpolation value candidate is limited to a value within the prescribed range so as to be output as an interpolation value of the interpolation pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
