<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air conditioner which determines the stay-in of a refrigerant in a compressor depending on a compressor shell temperature and a detection condition of an outside air temperature, also determines whether or not the operation of a compressor heating device should be performed, and can easily and efficiently prevent the stay-in of the refrigerant in the compressor. <P>SOLUTION: A compressor shell thermistor 21 for detecting the shell temperature is arranged at the compressor shell which is embedded in an outdoor machine 10 of the air conditioner. Furthermore, an outside air temperature thermistor 22 for detecting the outside air temperature is arranged at the outdoor machine. The outside air temperature is compared with the compressor shell temperature, and when the shell temperature is higher than the outside air temperature, the compressor heating machine is invalidated. When the shell temperature is lower than the outside air temperature, it is determined that a refrigerant stay-in condition arises, and the compressor heating device is operated. Furthermore, when the shell temperature is not lower than the outside air temperature at a certain degree, wasteful standby power is reduced by stopping the operation of the compressor heating device, and thus the energy saving of the air conditioner is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
