PURPOSE: A reflection barrier layer and an optical element are provided to effectively reduce ghost with low variation of the optical property of the whole reflection barrier by comprising with less layer number of the reflection barrier. CONSTITUTION: A waveform distributed in a mountain shape by passing a peak unit of a maximum reflection rate(P1) is defined as a peak waveform(1). A waveform distributed in a mountain shape by passing a peak unit of a maximum reflection rate(P2) is defined as a peak waveform(2). The peak waveform exits in a first wave length domain(W1) which becomes a short wavelength side and the peak waveform exits in a second wave length domain(W2) which becomes a short wavelength side. A maximum reflection rate in the first wave length domain and the maximum reflection rate in the second wavelength domain satisfy a relation of P1>P2. A wavelength range in which a reflection rate is less than a certain value is shifted to a wavelength longer than the second wavelength domain.
