Door monitoring sensor and method for monitoring the counter closing edge of a door, in particular of a revolving door

The sensor (100) has a light transmitter for emitting measuring light beams into a monitoring space in a region of a counter closing edge (93) of a door (90). A light detector has a receiver for detecting the light beams reflected by the space. A control and evaluation device is designed to generate a measurement signal from intensities of the detected light beams from a central zone (71) and two side zones (72, 73) of a monitored area of the space, to compare the measurement signal with a threshold value and to output an object detection signal based on a comparison result. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a counter closing edge of a door.
