<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of enhancing the degrees of freedom of design and a cartridge mounted in the image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: In a printer 1 having a development cartridge 25 for storing a toner, a CPU 84 for determining the condition of the development cartridge 25 and a body electrode 81 with which a cartridge electrode 52 of the development cartridge 25 contacts, a pressing member 50 for pressing or releasing a side wall 43 of a drum cartridge 24 is provided on the development cartridge 25. The CPU 84 is caused to determine that the development cartridge 25 is a new cartridge when the cartridge electrode 52 is made to move due to a reaction force generated by pressing of the side wall 43 of the drum cartridge 24 by the pressing member 50 and the body electrode 81 is made to move following the movement of the cartridge electrode 52 in a new article detection operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
