<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor suppressing residual potential accumulation. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor has a substrate and an outermost layer as follows. The outermost layer on the substrate includes a polymer of a chain polymerizable monomer, which has a charge transporting structure and a chain polymerizable functional group and has equivalent amount of C=O bonds by molar ratio relative to the chain polymerizable functional group, and a thiol compound, which has a thiol group and equivalent amount of C=O bonds by molar ratio relative to the thiol group. The outermost layer has a sulfur element content of 5 mass% or more and 10 mass% or less as measured by glow discharge-optical emission spectroscopy, and has value A of 0.05 or less represented by a formula (1) (A=S1/S2), the value A obtained by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy total reflection method under conditions that an internal reflection element is Ge and an incidence angle is 45 degrees.
