Halogenated hydrocarbons are stabilized against degradation by adding a hydrazone of formula <FORM:1096496/C4-C5/1> wherein R and R1 which may be the same or different are alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon atoms. It is also an advantage to add in admixture with the above, at least one epoxide and at least one phenol. Concentrations used are (1) 0.001-0.01% by weight with respect to the halogenated hydrocarbon of diakylhydrazone, (2) from 0.01-1% of epoxide, (3) 0.001-0.05% phenol. |
