PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling the swerving of hot-rolled sheets are provided to stably control the swerving amount of hot-rolled sheets by controlling the reduction force of a rolling roll. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling the swerving of hot-rolled sheets comprises a flatness measuring part(10), a reduction driving part(30), and a control part(20). The flatness measuring part measures the flatness of hot-rolled sheets. The reduction driving part generates a reduction force to a work side and a drive side of a rolling stand. The control part determines the swerving direction of the hot-rolled sheets and controls the reduction force of the reduction driving part.
