<p>591080 Disclosed is a flat key (15) for a cylinder lock, the flat key being designed with two flat side faces (14) and two edges. The flat key has bit cut-outs (16,17,18) of varying depth along at least one edge of the key, the bit cut-outs being narrower than the edge of the key and lying either centrally on or in a plane parallel to and at a perpendicular spacing from a central longitudinal plane of the key. A range of engagement positions (19) are defined for the bit cut-outs. At least two bit cut-outs are disposed adjacent one another transversely of the key, the engagement positions of the bit cut-outs located at the edge being offset from each other longitudinally of the key relative to the bit cut-outs located closer to the central longitudinal plane. The bit cut-outs have arcuate part-circular guide surfaces.</p> |
