PURPOSE: A heating furnace and a control method thereof are provided to prevent energy loss of a heating furnace by regulating the opening width of an exit door according to the width of a material being taken from the heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: A heating furnace comprises a body(10), an exit door(20), an exit door driving unit(30), and a control unit(40). The body has an exit hole(11) for taking out a material(S). The exit door is moved up and down by the exit door driving unit to open and close the exit hole. The control unit controls the operation of the exit door driving unit. A displacement sensor(12) is provided in the body to detect the existence of a material and transmits a detection signal to the control unit so that the control unit controls the operation of the exit door driving unit according to the detection signal. |
