cBN SINTER AND cBN SINTER TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cBN sinter which is excellent in chipping resistance and wear resistance in the processing of hard-cutting centrifugally-cast iron.

SOLUTION: The cBN sinter is composed of cBN components of 50 to 90% or 40 to 85% in volume is characterized in that: the cBN sinter contain alumina or zirconia by 9 to 50% in volume; and the weight ratio of zirconia/alumina is 0.1 to 4. Since a tool which is used in a region related to the cutting of this cBN sinter is excellent in the strength, hardness and toughness of the cBN sinter, performance is improved in the processing of hard-cutting centrifugally-cast iron as compared with a conventional cBN sinter tool.
