FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hardening of freight car bogie side frames. Side frame is subjected to flexure stress to create flexure moment in frame axle opening internal angles to cause plastic strain thereat. Note here that said flexure stress is brought about at distance between side frame sides of axle openings increased by 0.36-0.8 mm.EFFECT: higher fatigue resistance and longer life.1 dwg
