PURPOSE:To improve gas detecting sensitivity by enclosing the intermediate part of a tubular gas permeable membrane of which both end parts are opened in liquid by means of a casing to form a gas capturing member and providing a gas sensing element therein. CONSTITUTION:A detector 1 for gas in liquid is mounted with a fixing flange 6 or the like to the opening 5 of the side wall 4 on the tank side of, for example, an oil-filled electrical apparatus. A bellows 13 is extended by moving the expansion adjusting means 14 of a pressure reducing device 15 provided in a casing 2 enclosing the intermediate part of a tubular gas permeable body 8 toward the right, whereby the pressure in the casing 2 is reduced. The oil through the opening of the body 8 then through the inside of the body 8. The gas dissolved in the oil is captured in a gas capturing chamber 9 and is detected with a fuel cell element 10. The output thereof is conducted by a lead wire 11 to a voltmeter 12 or the like. Thereby, the sensitivity of gas detection is improved. |
