<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system capable of preventing a visitor from being subjected to a strong light beam from illumination part of a door phone. <P>SOLUTION: The interphone system includes: a lobby interphone 4 which is installed in a lobby of a collective housing and is capable of calling a resident of a desired dwelling unit; a door phone 1 which is installed outside the dwelling unit and is capable of calling the resident; and an interphone master unit 2 which is installed in the dwelling unit and is capable of responding to the call from the lobby interphone 4 and door phone 1 and is capable of independently communicating between the lobby interphone 4 and door phone 1. The door phone 1 includes an imaging section 14 that takes an image of a predetermined area; and illumination section 15 capable of illuminating a predetermined area. The interphone master unit 2 includes an operation section 22 for releasing the lock installed on an automatic door 5 in the lobby.
