TRANSFER DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of scattering of a toner image caused by air sandwiched and compressed between an intermediate transfer body and a recording medium when transferring the toner image on the intermediate transfer body onto the recording medium.

SOLUTION: A transfer device includes a transfer member 34 that transfers a toner image carried on the intermediate transfer body 26 which circulates and moves while carrying the toner image onto the recording medium; a counter member 32 which is arranged so as to press-contact to the transfer member 34 via the intermediate transfer body 26; and a pressurizing member 60 which is arranged to contact with pressure to the transfer member 34 via the intermediate transfer body 26 at a position along a moving direction of the intermediate transfer body 26 upstream than the contact section where the counter member 32 comes into contact with pressure to the transfer member 34 and immediately after the toner image carried on the intermediate transfer body 26 has started contact to the recording medium 35. The pressure by the pressurizing member 60 is weaker than the pressure with which the counter member comes into contact with the transfer member.
