<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell, capable of preventing occurrence of short circuit while reducing an area of an electrolyte membrane; and a method for manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A membrane electrode assembly 1 for a fuel cell includes a resin rim 7 which is provided on a circumference 10A of a laminate 10 including an electrode layer 3 provided on both sides of an electrolyte membrane 2.
