PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for electrochemically quantifying and detecting amplified nucleic acid without using a fluorescent substance.

SOLUTION: A partial sequence of a complemental strand of target nucleic acid to be detected is fixed on an electrode, an amplification reaction is performed on the electrode and amplified nucleic acid is electrochemically detected in the presence of a substance having redox activity.
