<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical seal, in which an elastic mechanism that presses a stationary sealing ring to serve as a sealing part is improved so as to sufficiently function for a long period of time while using the elastic mechanism and bellows functioning as a cylindrical structure, and durability is improved and a high function is achieved. <P>SOLUTION: The mechanical seal includes: a rotary seal ring 5 externally and integrally fitted on an extension shaft part 1A of a rotary shaft 1; a stationary seal ring 6 supported by a sidewall 2, so as to be movable in a direction of the shaft center P but not allowed to rotate; and an elastic mechanism 7 which forms a seal part S by pressing the stationary seal ring 6 to the rotary seal ring 5, in which the elastic mechanism 7 is structured by a rubber bellows stretched over the stationary seal ring 6 to the sidewall 2, surrounding the extension shaft part 1A. In the mechanical seal, an external elastic mechanism 20 that elastically energizes a base end 7A of the bellows 7 in a fixed side rather than a bellow part 7C and energizes a top end 7B in the stationary seal ring side, in opposite directions to each other along the direction of the shaft center P, is mounted with straddled over the base end 7A and the top end 7B across outside the diameter of the bellow part 7C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
