OSCILLATOR AND PLL CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator capable of being formed in a small area on a semiconductor integrated circuit and of generating an oscillation signal with an appropriate frequency, and further to provide a PLL circuit that uses the oscillator.

SOLUTION: An oscillator comprises: a resistor connected in parallel between a first node and a second node; an inverting amplifier; and a semiconductor element. The semiconductor element includes: a semiconductor substrate; an acoustic wave propagation layer formed on the semiconductor substrate in a shape that has long sides and short sides; acoustic wave reflection layers formed at least on both ends of the acoustic wave propagation layer in a long side direction; a first contact that is formed on the acoustic wave propagation layer and is electrically connected to the first node; and a second contact that is formed apart from the first contact on the acoustic wave propagation layer and is electrically connected to the second node. The oscillator outputs an oscillation signal from the first node or the second node.
