<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in accuracy of coordinate detection even if the status of use such as the manner of contact with an operation surface by a detection target varies. <P>SOLUTION: A coordinate detection device comprises: detection parts (14, 15) for respectively detecting electrostatic capacities of a plurality of electrodes (12, 13) arranged in parallel with predetermined directions; and a calculation processing part (18) for applying a calculation method that is different depending on the state of change amounts of electrostatic capacities of the plurality of electrodes (12, 13) and calculating a coordinate of a detection target. The calculation processing part (18) calculates the coordinate of the detection target by switchably applying a barycentric calculation method for calculating a barycentric coordinate or a curve approximate calculation method for obtaining a peak of a curve, according to a comparison value between an electrostatic capacity change amount of a peak electrode and an electrostatic capacity change amount of an electrode non-adjacent to the peak electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
