PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of realizing slim border without reducing sealing performance.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1A is provided between a driving side substrate 10 and an opposing substrate 18, and includes: a pixel part 10A having a plurality of pixels; a thin film transistor (TFT) 11 arranged in a frame area 10B on a periphery of the pixel part 10A on the driving side substrate 10; a flattening film 13 (insulating film) covering the TFT 11 in the frame area 10B; and a seal layer 19 which seals the pixel part 10A and also covers an end edge part 13e of the flattening film 13.
