<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell of new structure enabling downsizing and its elastic module. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to an elastic module 4 of the fuel cell which applies a compression force to a power generation cell laminate by an elastic force, the elastic module is provided with a pair of elastic bodies 5 arranged mutually in parallel, a pair of plate members 6 to pinch the plurality of elastic bodies 5 in lamination direction of the power generation cells, and a rib 6a which is provided between the adjoining elastic bodies 5 in at least one of the plate members 6 and protrudes from contact face C with the elastic body 5. It is preferable that the rib 6a is installed at both of the pair of plate members 6.
