<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition capable of improving fuel efficiency, wet-grip performance and dry-grip performance in a balanced manner; and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition includes a rubber component and silica. In 100 mass% of the rubber component, a conjugated diene-based polymer, which has a structural unit based on conjugated diene and an amine- or hydroxy group-containing vinyl silane and has at least one terminal modified with a compound represented by formula (II), is contained at least 5 mass%. In 100 pts.mass of the rubber component, 5-150 pts.mass of silica is contained which has an average length W<SP POS="POST">1</SP>between branched particles Z-Z, including branched particles Z themselves, is 30-400 nm where a particle having three or more adjoining particles is treated as a branched particle Z. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
