<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately track a subject when tracking the subject on the basis of data used for exposure control. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is provided with: an image sensor which outputs a signal corresponding to a captured subject image; exposure control means which controls exposure using image data based on the signal outputted from the image sensor; tracking means which tracks an object meeting predetermined conditions using plural pieces of image data used for the exposure control; and correction means which performs correction for approximation of values relating to the luminance of the plural pieces of image data used to the tracking to each other.
