PURPOSE: An object tracking apparatus and a method thereof are provided to implement object extraction by electing samples for particle filtering of an input image through resampling. CONSTITUTION: An object tracking apparatus calculates likelihood for each sample(S501). The apparatus calculates the weighted value of each sample(S503). The apparatus tracks an object location with a MAP(maximum a posteriori) estimation(S505). The apparatus displays the object location on a display device(S507).
