<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saltiness increasing agent, decreasing the quantity of salt used without impairing the taste of food and drink. <P>SOLUTION: This saltiness increasing agent includes a solid content originated from a plant, which is separated from cellular tissue of vegetables of liliaceae and passes through a mesh of 140, a product of Maillard reaction and a flavor component containing a sulfur containing compound.
