<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform abnormality detection of secondary batteries by means of fewer current detectors than a parallel number of the secondary batteries. <P>SOLUTION: A battery power supply device comprises: a battery block in which N pieces of series circuits including secondary batteries and cutoff elements are connected in parallel; a total current detector that measures total current flowing in the battery block; a first current detector for cutoff detection that measures first total current flowing in a charging/discharging path from the N pieces of series circuits by using magnetic detection; and a disconnection detector that calculates a ratio of the total current measured with the total current detector to the first total current measured with the first current detector for cutoff detection, and that determines a cutoff spot and a number of cutoff elements from a relation between a ratio of the first total current/the total current, which is pre-registered in the disconnection detector, to a preliminary assumed cutoff state. The battery power supply device determines the cutoff spot and the cutoff number of the cutoff elements by means of the current detectors, which are fewer than the parallel number of the secondary batteries, by making the charging/discharging path from the n-th (n: an integral number 1 to N) series circuit passes through the inside of the first current detector for cutoff detection a 2<SP POS="POST">n-1</SP>number of times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
