摘要 <p>A process for producing a magnetostrictive torque sensor is provided in which a magnetic material can be deposited in any desired shape and thickness on the base of a rotating shaft to enable a magnetostrictive torque sensor having high sensitivity to be obtained. The process includes: a photocurable-resin application/curing step in which a photocurable resin (11b) is applied and cured in the regions of the peripheral surface of the base of a rotating shaft (1) where a magnetostrictive detection layer is not formed; a recess formation step in which after the part of the photocurable resin which did not correspond to the light-nontransmitting part was cured, recesses are formed in the part of the peripheral surface of the base of the rotating shaft which is not covered with the cured part; and a magnetostrictive-detection-layer spray formation step in which a magnetic material is deposited by thermal spraying on the peripheral surface of the base of the rotating shaft (1) to form magnetostrictive detection layers (2a, 2b) in the recesses. According to the process, the magnetostrictive detection layers (2a, 2b) can be thickly formed to obtain a magnetostrictive torque sensor having high sensitivity.</p>
