The module (1) has a base housing including four retainers (10) for a connection carrier. Plug bushings (12) are asymmetrically arranged within the retainers for electrically connecting the connection carrier with the interface module. A housing extension (14) is arranged within the retainers. The connection carrier includes plug pins at a lower side for detachable electrical connection with the plug bushings, and a connection element e.g. five-pole connector, at an upper side for a field device.
