<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device capable of realizing high portability while retaining high operability. <P>SOLUTION: A pointing device 300 comprises: a bottom face in a rectangular shape; a top face in the same shape as the bottom face opposing and in parallel to the bottom face; and two side face pairs including a plurality of rectangular side faces vertical to the bottom face and the top face. The top face has two input buttons of an input button 302 for inputting determination and an input button 301 for opening a menu screen arranged in a lengthwise direction, the first input button 302 out of the two input buttons is disposed in an area including a point corresponding to a center along the lengthwise direction of the top face and a center along a widthwise direction, and the second input button 301 out of the two input buttons is disposed in an area including a point sandwiched between the first input button 302 disposed on the top face and an end along the lengthwise direction of the top face and the center along the widthwise direction.
