<p>This environmentally friendly flux for the desulfurization of a molten steel contains CaO and Al2O3 so that [CaO]/[Al2O3] is in the range of 1.6-3.0 where [CaO] and [Al2O3] are the contents in mass% of CaO and Al2O3, respectively, and further contains both one or more alkali metal oxides selected from Na2O, K2O, and Li2O and SiO2 so that [SiO2]/[R2O] is in the range of 0.1-3, [R2O] is in the range of 0.5-5 mass%, and [SiO2] is in the range of 0.05-15 mass% where [SiO2] is the content in mass% of SiO2 and [R2O] is the total content in mass% of Na2O, K2O, and Li2O.</p> |
