<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a communication system as a whole in a communication system constructed by a plurality of devices. <P>SOLUTION: Connection is mutually made between one or a plurality of image forming apparatus 4 for forming an image on a medium on the basis of image information and a host device 3 for receiving image information from the outside and relaying the image information to the image forming apparatus 4 or between the image forming apparatus 4 by a network cable 6 for transmitting and receiving information and power in a two-way direction, and the network cable 6 is set in either a state for transmitting and receiving power or a state for interrupting the power on the basis of information about a power amount to be consumed at the image forming apparatus 4 and the host device 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
