The battery module storage device of the present invention is made in a rectangular parallelepiped shape with the front face and the rear face open and an inner space formed therein, and a plurality of battery cell insertion slots are formed on the bottom face of the upper face plate and the top face of the lower face plate so that a plurality of battery cells can be inserted in a standing manner where the two faces are opposing each other, and a plurality of heat transfer plate insertion slots are formed near the plurality of battery cell insertion slots so that heat transfer plates of a battery module temperature adjustment device can be inserted in a standing manner. Therefore, the present invention can configure a battery pack and an electric power storage system having a stack structure by inserting a battery module from the front face side of the battery module storage device, and inserting the battery module temperature adjustment device from the rear face side.
