PURPOSE: An on-demand updating device for an object-based numerical map through clipping and join and a method thereof are provided to improve the accuracy of the object-based numerical map by minimizing a data error. CONSTITUTION: A data error checking unit(610) checks a data error. A clipping algorithm engine(620) finds a map sheet part related to a geographic feature extracted through a data extracting module to form a polygon clipped into a square shape on a screen. A join algorithm engine(630) searches for measurement data having the same coordinates as coordinates which a boundary of clipped data has by sequentially searching for update data and joins the measurement data to the same layer by inserting the same into the clipped data.
