<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly calculate a required torque value of an engine, even when a target rotational speed of the engine is changed, and to make a rotational speed surely follow the target rotation speed. <P>SOLUTION: This engine torque controller includes an engine rotational speed detecting means 22, an engine target rotational speed setting means 12, a means 14A for calculating an engine rotational speed change rate, based on a detected rotational speed Ne, a means 13 for calculating a change rate target value dNe_FB(n) of the engine rotational speed, based on the current rotational speed Ne and the target rotational speed Nobj_FB(n), a means 17A for correcting an actual engine torque value by the first engine required torque value based on a change rate current value and a change rate target value, and a means 18 for controlling an engine torque, based on a required torque value after corrected.
